A man is serving a four-month sentence in the Starr County jail without having committed an actual crime. He is being held in civil contempt for refusing to stop fighting for an inheritance that the courts ruled he had no right to claim because he is adopted. If this story wasn’t true, it would be absurd. STARR COUNTY, 1943 This story begins in 1943. The United States was in the middle of the second world war, and many young men in the country, including in Starr County, were getting ready to serve. In that year, Maria Lopez viuda de Pena, or La Tia Maria as she was known, made her final Will.  La Tia Maria never had children, but she raised her nephew Santiago, and she loved him as if he was her own son. Santiago was 19 years old in 1943, and he was drafted to fight in the second world war. And, it was in this historical context that La Tia Maria made the fateful decision that caused a series of events that landed Santiago’s son in the Starr County Jail 82 years later....

10 YEARS IN PRISON FOR A ROBBERY THAT NEVER HAPPENED

Murray Lee Blackwell's graduation from the GED program in prison in 2008. A Black man spent 10 years in prison accused of trying to rob a pizza delivery man in Harlingen to steal a pizza when he was 17-years-old. He grew up in a tough neighborhood and many in his family had drug addictions and criminal records… so no one doubted his guilt, not even the court-appointed attorney who lied to him and told him prosecutors had too much evidence against him and if he did not take the deal on the spot, the judge with a tough reputation would likely give him the maximum 20 years. We took a look at the file… and it’s obvious that it was, and is, bullshit! 💩  The only person that believed him was the witness that saw what happened that night, but no one spoke to her.  THE NIGHT OF THE PIZZA 🍕 DELIVERY   On November 24, 2004, a man delivering pizzas for dominos drove down East McKinley St. in Harlingen, TX where 17-year-old Murray Lee Blackwell lived. On that night, Murray was hang...

Help support Justice RGV

Image
Since we started this movement years ago people have asked us about how they can contribute to the cause by making a donation. We always declined in order to protect our anonymity; however, being able to accept contributions has been one of our objectives for some time. Despite the rumors about our identity and background, the fact is that #JusticeRGV is managed by working class people from the Rio Grande Valley… just like you. We are not rich but we decided to donate our time and different expertise to help fight for Justice in the #RGV. DONATE WHAT YOU CAN We expect our most privileged followers to be more generous… four figure+ contributions would be nice.  Our working class heroes can make a big difference by making small contributions. Whether it’s $5 or $100, it helps. We are aware most of our followers do not have extra money, so if you can’t afford it, don’t worry about it… you are helping by sharing, liking and commenting on our posts, and most of all, by sending us...

Over a quarter of $1 Million on a credit card

Image
The Chambers campaign is being funded with an unknown credit card. His company was bouncing checks in August... who is providing the credit? 🤔 John Chambers has filed only two campaign finance reports. The first one on January 15, 2020 lists a single transaction: a payment, on the same day it was filed, to Pink Ape Media from Brownsville for $33,330. The problem with that transaction is that the report was supposed to cover July-December 2019 only. 2ND SEMIANNUAL REPORT This report was due on July 15, 2020, and should have covered the period from January 1st to June 30, 2020, but Chambers failed to file.  According to the Texas Ethics Commission, a candidate is not obligated to file if his contributions or expenditures are less than $900; however, we know that is not the case since he paid Pink Ape Media $33,330 on January 15th. REPORT DUE 30 DAYS BEFORE THE ELECTION The recent financial report submitted by Chambers lists only TWO transactions.  The first, $225,523.47 paid to...

Judge signs order against the City of Hidalgo, Texas

Image
A Judge issued a Temporary Restraining Order against the City of Hidalgo to stop them from confiscating signs accusing Commissioner Gus Sanchez of theft. The order also prohibits the City from retaliating against the business owner that posted the sign. Shortly after Chief Romeo Rodry executed the Mayor Pro Tem’s orders, the business owner wrapped his van with a similar sign… soon after, the van was impounded and his business permits revoked for unpaid taxes. It was a trivial amount, which Mr. Franz immediately paid off. On Tuesday, October 6, 2020, a Judge ordered the city to return the van. Additionally, the order prevents the city from harassing his employees, which were threatened with arrest if they dared to drive the company vehicles. The video of that embarrassing day for the residents of the City of Hidalgo, and the RGV, was exposed at RGV: Truth & Justice … the local media continues to ignore it. WATCH THE VIDEO: HERE ACCUSED OF THEFT On September 23, 2020, local bus...
